Mitchell & Dickinson

Saving the planet, one historic building at a time

We’ve worked with Mitchell & Dickinson for over a decade, supporting them on their journey to retrofit the UK’s period buildings to reduce carbon output and make them warm.

We’re their in-house marketing team whose desks happen to be elsewhere.

The initial challenge we faced together was how to change the perception of the business as a ‘secondary glazing company’ and instead reflect its position as a world-leading authority on listed-building insulation and preservation whose aims are heavily environmentally driven.

Branding, tone of voice

We worked with the M&D team to develop a coherent brand strategy that redefined their position in the market. That strategy developed into a brand logo and original illustrations that reflected the company’s craftsmanship. And we created a brand voice which remains consistent across the company’s communications on all platforms.

Website, social and email newsletters

Marketing collateral for the brand has included developing brochures, newspapers and mailers, and designing, building and managing the website, working with a partner to deliver SEO.

The site takes users on a journey into the world of sustainable energy solutions for period properties and is built around content for SEO and optimises landing pages for lead capture. This is backed up by automatic email campaigns for lead-nurturing.

‘Reflect its position as a world-leading authority’

Marketing strategy support

In addition, we help implement the marketing and tactics – from advertising creative to video production, media planning, events and PPC, while also providing general strategic marketing support.

‘We loved working with Salt from the very start. They got under the skin of our business and created a brand to match our market. Even though some of the subject matter is pretty technical they brought it to life and made it sizzle.’
