The 26th edition of the Trencherman’s Guide to exceptional dining in the South West is the UK winner in the Food Culture category of the international Gourmand World Book Awards. It’s fantastic validation of the guide which, for 26 years, has put the spotlight on the most exquisite dining experiences in the South West of England.
The 26th edition has sold widely internationally,so it’s providing both South West locals and visiting food lovers with the definitive list of must-visit West Country restaurants which reach the very highest standards of cooking and service.
The beautiful guides feature 160 member restaurants from Cornwall to the Cotswolds who are included in the book on reaching the very highest criteria. Trencherman’s Guides are distributed through book shops and online as well as via the member restaurants and are supported by events and marketing all year round.
The Trencherman’s Guide was created by Kit Chapman of The Castle in Taunton and Paul Henderson of Gidleigh Park in 1992 to bring people to the South West to experience the region’s best dining.Their aim was to craft a guide that chefs would have total confidence in and this ethos has continued unchanged for over a quarter of a century. The current chairman of the Trencherman’s board is Michelin starred chef, Michael Caines MBE of Lympstone Manor.
