Project Description

Crafting a patchwork paradise

A halcyon escape in the South West countryside, Birchill Farm Cottages are a small collection of converted farm buildings, immaculately furnished to four and five star gold graded standard.

A niche holiday experience, its target market are affluent families with very young children, who want to give their kids a taste of freedom in the countryside – feeding the goats, and chickens, and petting the alpacas, donkeys and lambs. Set in a delightful patchwork of lush fields and countryside, the owners wanted to create a brand that would communicate the experience and appeal to their target audience.

We worked with them to refine the name and concept, created a brand logo based around the patchwork idea, with quirky, friendly fonts and a series of fabric-print animal devices. The owners chose actual fabrics they liked, we photographed them for the design work and then the fabrics were used to create interior furnishings and turned into fabric cuddly toys which are made by a local company and which are placed in the cottages and available for guests to buy as a souvenir of their stay.

We aslo created a website and we thrilled to get our own patchwork pig as a thank you for our work.
